Image texture effects, explained
Each look below is a documented effect you can open directly in the editor with its settings already loaded. Everything renders in your browser; no image is ever uploaded.
Paper texture Lay an image onto warm stock with fibre, tonal drift, and sparse flecks. Runs locally in the browser, so the source never leaves your device.
Risograph print A real four-ink separation with rotated halftone screens and imperfect registration, on warm stock. Processed locally in the browser.
Halftone crosses A halftone whose marks change shape as tone deepens: nothing, then dots, then crosses. Rendered locally in the browser.
Cyanotype blueprint Map an image through archival blues, from deep navy to pale wash, with fine exposure grain. Processed locally in the browser.
Pixelate Average an image into hard cells and reduce its colour depth, for deliberate low-resolution character. Runs locally in the browser.
ASCII art Rebuild an image from monospaced characters chosen by local brightness, on a cell grid that respects character proportions. Runs locally in the browser.
Grain Studio ships 6 documented looks and 25 effects in total. The rest are in the editor's own catalog.
